William Alexander's 1624 Map of Nova ScotiaThis map was almost certainly drawn in 1623, the very first year our chief Oak Island suspect had a ship that reached his new province, granted to him by King James I of Great Britain in 1621. The snippet shown here includes the names/titles of two significant men in our story. "E. of Arndel" represents Thomas Howard, Earl of Ardunel, whose name may also appear on the famous "90' Stone" found at the bottom of the Oak Island Money Pit in 1804. The name just below his is that of Ferdinando Gorges (pronounced George) the man somewhat responsible for Alexander having received Nova Scotia to be used as a buffer between New France (Canada) and New England. These men were fourth cousins and related to the monarchy of Great Britain, including King James. As the story unfolds the viewer will learn much more about these men and the direct connection of the Plymouth Colony to Oak Island.

William Alexander (MacDonald)William Alexander, who hailed from the MacDonald clan and sometimes added that surname to his signature, was the first European proprietor of Nova Scotia and, in fact, he named it Nova Scotia (Latin for New Scotland). He served in many positions of authority in England and Scotland, including Secretary of State (for life) of Scotland. He had his fingers in many pies along with his friends and associates, including Thomas Howard and Sir Francis Bacon. Alexander was a famous poet and playwright as well as a tutor for the sons of King James, including the future King Charles I.
Alexander's MacDonald family actually built Mary's Chapel, the building where Freemasonry began and his sons, William Jr. and Anthony were the world's first-known Freemason, with his business partner, Al Strachan, as the third and his son Henry as the seventh. Alexander, Strachan, Bacon, Howard and a handful of other very powerful men attempted New World settlements and eventually facilitated Freemasonry, creating the Oak Island mystery along the way. |
Three versions of the 90" Stone Cipher which appear to mention the Names of Thomas Howard and William Douglas, two men important to our story. Also mentioned are the words "O, God Send Angels." The three dot triangle of Freemasonry appears on the stone three separate times.

This is the Only Known Illustration of Mary's Chapel where Freemasonry first began on July 3, 1634.

A network of tunnels were found under Mary's Chapel looking very similar to those found under Knights Templar castles throughout the western world. The era of the Knights Templar in Scotland came to an end just as the seeds of Freemasonry were being planted, all under the reign of Mary, Queen of Scots, whose own secret cipher has been used to decode the Oak Island 90' Stone. The William Alexander theory currently ranks second out of all Oak Island theories ever presented.
